Deir el-Medina

The site of Deir el-Medina consists of the village of the workmen who carved and decorated the royal New Kingdom tombs in the Valley of the Kings and the valley of the Queens between the early 18th dynasty and the late Ramasside period (c.1550-1069 BCE). It also incorporates the tombs of many of the workmen as well as cult places dedicated to various deities.
