Palm Sunday, the Sunday prior to Easter Sunday, is celebrated by Christians as the day in which Jesus Christ entered Jerusalem riding on a donkey, in accordance with the Messianic prophecies.  People were shouting:  "Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord!  Blessed is the coming kingdom of our father.  Hosanna in the highest".  His path was strewn with palm branches.
