According to the Christian faith, Jesus Christ ascends to heaven forty days after his bodily resurrection following his crucifixion.  He appears to his disciples and apostles on Mount Olivet and the most familiar quotation from the Great Commission is "…and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen".  Jesus Christ also promises the disciples that they shall do great things inspired by the Holy Spirit.
