The Antiquities Museum, Cultural Outreach Sector, Bibliotheca Alexandrina (BA), celebrates the centenary of the discovery the golden King Tutankhamun's tomb. The celebration includes a seminar on the discovery of this famous tomb, followed by a screening of a film entitled The Dream is Loading, on Sunday, 27 November 2022; 12:00 noon, at the Bibliotheca Alexandrina Conference Center, Delegates Hall. The event coincides with the twentieth anniversary celebrations of the inauguration of the Bibliotheca Alexandrina.
The seminar will be begin with a speech by Dr. Hussein Abdel Basir, Director of the Antiquities Museum, and Taghreed Hussein, President of the Nile TV International.
The film revolves around the journey of a young Egyptian man named Hani, who was intrigued by his foreign friends' passion for collecting souvenirs belonging to King Tutankhamun. This prompted him to further research and reflect on the life of this young king, the circumstances of his accession to the throne, and the mystery surrounding his death. It also led him to visit the Grand Egyptian Museum to explore these mysteries and document the largest collection of archaeological holdings supported by the latest museum display techniques. The screening will be followed by an open discussion between the audience and the filmmakers.
The film won many awards, including: the Best Documentary Award from the Egyptian-American Film Festival in New York, the Best Director Award for Ahmed Abdel-Alim Kassem from the Souss International Short Film Festival held in Aït Melloul, and the Jury Award from the Festival ciné-café à Taza, Morocco, and the Audience Award from the 12th Youssef Chahine Short Film Festival, the Jury Prize from the Zagora Festival in Morocco, a Certificate of Appreciation from the 5th Al-Awda awards Festival in Palestine, a Certificate of Appreciation from the 14th Forum for Arab Tourism Media, a Certificate of Appreciation and a Shield from October 6 University of Science and Technology, and a Certificate of Appreciation on World Tourism Day from the Faculty of Tourism and Hotels, October 6 University. The film was also an Official Selection of the Mizdah Festival in Libya, and was nominated by the National Media Authority to participate in the Italian Grand Prix Festival.
Starring Hani Samir Seif, and written and directed by Ahmed Abdel-Alim Kassem, the film was produced by Nile TV International.
