The Antiquities Museum and the Zahi Hawass Center of Egyptology, affiliated to the Cultural outreach Sector at the Bibliotheca Alexandrina, organize a lecture entitled “Saite necropolis at Heliopolis”, on Sunday, 18 December 2022, at 1:00 pm, at the Bibliotheca Alexandrina Conference Center, Delegates Hall. It will be delivered by Dr. Abdel Ghaffar Wagdy, Archaeologist at the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities and Researcher at Leipzig University.
The lecture sheds light on the Saite era as one of the fascinating periods in ancient Egypt due to the numerous tombs of individuals from this period spread throughout Egypt, especially in Matareya and Ain Shams. The lecture focuses mainly on the antiquities of the Saite era that have been discovered so far, and the excavations carried out by the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities which aims to preserve the archaeological heritage of these two regions.
