The Antiquities Museum, affiliated to the Bibliotheca Alexandrina Cultural Outreach Sector, celebrates the International Museum Day on Thursday, 23 May 2024; from 11:30 am to 4:30 pm, at the Bibliotheca Alexandrina Conference Center, Delegates Hall. This year’s theme, “Museums for Education and Research”, emphasizes the importance of scientific research and knowledge acquisition. In line with the role of museums, the Antiquities Museum present different and diverse activities that deepen identity and strengthen sense of belonging among new generations, so that they themselves preserve their antiquities.

The International Day of Museums is celebrated on the eighteenth of May, every year, to confirm the importance of museums and their role in preserving heritage, evoking history, spreading culture and artistic taste, as well as emphasizing their educational role, and importance as a tourist attraction.
