Registration Open for Educational Museum Activities
07 June 2015
- 15 September 2015
For the thirteenth successive year, the Bibliotheca Alexandrina Antiquities Museum is organizing its summer program for children and youth aged 9–17 years.
The museum’s educational activities are held under the supervision of Engineer Nermine Nabil. These activities involve a set of carefully selected antiquities that will attract children and youth. The program comprises artistic development, raises awareness of antiquities, and makes learning fun. It grants an opportunity for searching, experimenting, and practicing scientific creativity with the antiquities at hand.
The program will take place during 7 June – 15 September 2015. Admission tests will be held during the first week. The activities will be held daily, except on Fridays and Saturdays.
The program comprises three age groups with different schedules for each. Participants will create various artistic works using different methods and materials, such as painting on canvas, drawing on glass, drawing on plexiglass, gypsum etching, linoleum etching, salt etching, clay art, copper hammering, playdough art, cork art, and charcoal art, using acrylic colors, gouache and aquarelle colors, pastel colors, and glass and ceramic colors.
An exhibition showcasing the participants’ works will be held at the end of the program.
Registration starts on 21 May 2015 and closes once full capacity is reached.
