Museum Education Exhibition 2018

The BA Antiquities Museum inaugurates an exhibition showcasing this year’s Museum Education activities on Sunday, 8 July 2018, at 1:00 pm at the entrance to the Antiquities Museum (B1 Level).
The exhibition includes a collection of artworks produced by children and young people who took participated in the summer activities under the supervision of Engineer Nermin Nabil Riad, Supervisor of Museum Education. Participants are aged 9 to 16, in addition to children and youth with disabilities aged 13 to 30. Artifacts are chosen carefully, and participants are provided with relevant historical information.
The Museum Education Program aims to foster community outreach efforts, through two main goals:
First: spread awareness of history and antiquities among participants and provide them with a historical background of all the eras of Egyptian history, beginning with Ancient Egypt until the Islamic Era.
Second: help participants utilize their spare time in developing their talents and showcasing their artistic creativity.
Tests are conducted for participants to demonstrate the talents required to participate in this program and to help them exercise their hobbies and refine their abilities by teaching them how to create works of art in several ways using different materials, such as plaster, salt plates, modelling clay, Aswan clay, painting on canvas or glass, mosaics, cork and leather burning, forging copper and aluminum, and painting on cloth, murals and Plexiglas. They are also taught how to use different coloring materials, including acrylic, soft pastel, oil pastel, canvas colors, glass colors, and ceramic colors.
