The BA Antiquities Museum organizes a lecture entitled “Islamic Money: From Images to Inscriptions” on Tuesday, 9 October 2018 at 1:00 pm in the Third Floor Floating Room (F3). The lecture is delivered by Prof. Dr. Atef Mansour Mohammad Ramadan, Professor of Islamic Numismatics and Archaeology, and the Dean of the Faculty of Antiquities, Fayoum University.
The Researcher sheds light on the emergence of the coin system in the ancient kingdom of Lydia in the 7th century B.C, including its development, manufacture, and how it gained the interest of rulers and states who considered it an important manifestation of governance and sovereignty.
