The BA Antiquities Museum organizes a lecture entitled “Archaeoacoustic Dimensions of Cairo’s Religious Islamic Monuments” on Wednesday, 30 January 2019, at 1:00 pm in the BACC Delegates Hall. The lecture will be delivered by Dr. Ahmad Awad, Head of the Tourist Guidance Department at the Higher Institute For Tourism, Hotels,and Restoration of Monuments in Alexandria.
Dr. Awad will discuss the acoustic dimensions of Cairo’s religious Islamic antiquities, and analyze the acoustic environments of those antiquities to understand the extent to which Islamic architecture grasped acoustic theories, and the reflection of said knowledge on the architecture of those historical buildings.
