“Experiencing Heritage: A Digital Bridge between Egypt and Italy” Exhibition

The Antiquities Museum affiliated to the Bibliotheca Alexandrina (BA) Cultural Outreach (CO) Sector, in cooperation with the Embassy of Italy and the Italian Cultural Institute in Cairo, organizes an exhibition entitled “Experiencing Heritage: A Digital Bridge between Egypt and Italy.” The Exhibition includes three-dimensional (3D) virtual models of a selection from Italian museums. It allows visitors to take a virtual tour in the halls of different museums, using virtual reality (VR) glasses, in a unique experience. In addition, the Exhibition includes photographs of a number of sites in Cairo and Alexandria.

The Exhibition is open to the public from Monday to Thursday, 13–16 March 2023. Virtual shows are made available from 10:30 am to 12:00 noon, and from 1:00 to 3:30 pm. Alongside the Exhibition, the Italian side, in cooperation with the Arts Center affiliated to the BA CO Sector, organizes a special performance of “Tahteeb and Tarntella”; on Sunday, 12 March 2023; 7:00 pm, at the BA Conference Center, Great Hall (free entry). The performance presents aspects of Egyptian and Italian folklore.
