Registration Open for Museum Education Activities

01 June 2014 - 05 September 2014

For the twelfth successive year, the Bibliotheca Alexandrina Antiquities Museum organizes its Summer Program targeting children and youth aged 9–17 years.

The Museum education activities are held under the supervision of Eng. Nermine Nabil. These activities involve a set of carefully selected antiquities that attract children and youth. The Program comprises artistic development, raises awareness of antiquity, and makes learning fun. It grants an opportunity to searching, experimenting, and practicing scientific creativity with the antiquities at hand.

The Program takes place during the period 1 June – 5 September 2014. Admittance tests will be held during the first week; and activities are held daily, except Friday and Saturday.

The Program comprises three age groups with different schedules for activities.  Participants carry out various artistic works using different methods and materials; for example, painting on canvas, drawing on glass, drawing on plexiglass, gypsum etching, linoleum etching, salt etching, clay art, copper hammering, playdough art, cork art, charcoal art and acrylic colors, gouache and aquarelle colors, pastel colors, and glass and ceramic colors.

An Exhibition showcasing the participants’ works is to be held at the end of the Program.
