Draw and Discover Competition

 The BA Antiquities museum is organizing the “Draw and Discover” competition for 13–17 years old in order to develop their intellectual and artistic skills. This year’s competition focuses on the renowned Greek philosopher, Socrates. A marble bust of Socrates is displayedat the Greco-Roman antiquities hall of the BA Antiquities Museum. The winners of the drawing and the research categories of the competition will receive three valuable awards by the Replica Production Unit, the Ministry of State of Antiquities.The first of the two competition categories entails participants to present a drawing of the artifact in question, with smooth lines and great attention to details, by using the picture provided on the Antiquities Museum website.In the second category, participating children will be asked to conduct research on the aforementioned artifact. The submitted research papers must contain accurate information, be comprehensible, suit the participants’ age, and consist of at least 10 pages. An introductory lecture on Socrates will be delivered in order to assist the participants in their research.

 
The competition is going to be held from 10 to 24 September 2017, and registration is set to begin on Sunday, 20 August 2017 via contacting Nermine Nabil, Coordinator of the BA Museum Education Program at the Antiquities museum.Winners will be announced and awarded in October during a ceremony,whichwill be heldconcurrently with the BA 15th anniversary celebration.
