Museums around the world celebrate the International Museums Day on 18 May of every year. This event is an opportunity to honor museum visitors and offer a wide range of special activities.
The Bibliotheca Alexandrina Antiquities Museum is pleased to offer its visitors a workshop on Sunday, 19 May 2019, from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm, for children and young people,
8-11 years old. The workshop will include artistic activities tailored according to the historical periods of Egypt.
This year's International Museums Day will be held under the theme "Museums as Cultural Centers: The Future of Traditions". The theme focuses on the role of museums in a changing society where museums keep reinventing themselves in their quest to become more interactive and focused on the public. Museums have become cultural hubs that serve as platforms for creativity and knowledge; they also enable their visitors to participate and interact.
