The Tomb of “Sennedjem” in an Interactive Lecture at the Bibliotheca Alexandrina

The Antiquities Museum and the Zahi Hawass Center of Egyptology; affiliated to the Bibliotheca Alexandrina Cultural Outreach Sector, in collaboration with the Department of Archaeology and Civilization, Faculty of Arts, Helwan University, organize an online lecture entitled “The Tomb of Sennedjem”. The lecture is delivered by Dr. Ahmed Younes Mohammed, Lecturer of Egyptology, Department of Archaeology and Civilization, Faculty of Arts, Helwan University. The lecture will be broadcasted on Wednesday, 30 June 2021; 7:30 pm, on the “Bibliotheca Alexandrina Antiquities Museum” Facebook page.
The Lecture sheds light on a Theban Tomb located in Deir el-Medina, on the Theban western bank. It belongs to a servant in the place of truth named “Sennedjem”, who lived during the reigns of the Kings Seti I and Ramesses II. The name “Sennedjem” means “the beautiful or gentle brother”. The tomb was discovered by Maspero, and published by Bruyère in 1959.
